Terms of service
Last updated 17 October 2026
These terms govern your use of Paprica at paprica.work (the “Service”), operated by Jheyanth CS (“Paprica”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or buying a plan, you agree to them.
1. What Paprica does
Paprica is a software tool that edits academic writing for clarity and natural flow. It extracts the text of a document you upload, edits it with automated language models, checks the edited text against your original for lost or altered content, and gives you the result as downloadable Markdown and plain text.
Paprica edits writing you provide. It does not write papers, conduct research, generate citations or add substantive content.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old, or have permission from a parent or guardian, to use the Service.
- You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure.
- One person per account. Don’t share accounts or create multiple accounts to get around usage limits.
3. Your content
You keep all rights to the documents you upload and to the edited output. You give us a limited licence to store and process your documents only to provide the Service to you. You confirm that you have the right to submit every document you upload.
4. Academic integrity and acceptable use
You agree to use Paprica only on writing you authored or are authorised to edit, and to follow the rules of your institution, publisher or employer on editing and AI-assisted tools, including any requirement to disclose their use. You must not use the Service to:
- submit or edit work that is not your own and present it as yours;
- break the law, infringe someone else’s rights, or upload personal data about others without a lawful basis;
- upload malware, or attempt to probe, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the Service;
- resell or redistribute access to the Service.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
5. No guarantees about third-party tools
Automated AI-detection tools disagree with each other, change over time and are not reliable evidence of authorship. Paprica does not promise any score or outcome from any third-party tool, and does not promise that an institution or publisher will accept your work. You are responsible for reviewing the output before you use it.
6. Plans, runs and payment
- Plans are one-time purchases for one paper, with a word limit and a number of included runs, as described on the pricing page.
- Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as our merchant of record and is the seller on your invoice. Its terms also apply to the payment.
- A run is confirmed only after the payment provider confirms your payment. A run that fails for a technical reason is returned to your allowance.
- Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep Paprica available but don’t guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue a paid plan before you have used it, we will refund the unused purchase.
8. Liability
The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including academic or professional consequences of how you use the output, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the plan the claim relates to. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using Paprica and delete your projects at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. Sections 3, 5, 8 and 10 continue to apply after your account ends.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be handled by the competent courts of India, without limiting any consumer rights you have where you live.
